Hiker and the Entrepreneur

Imagine you are running a company you established with your passion and it suddenly bankrupts. Then you start to work under someone else, but that does not satisfy you. Driven by the desire, you start two shops on your own. But life is not done writing the grueling chapter, where you fail again. Are you still willing to muster up all the courage to fight a losing battle? Well, that is what Milton S. Hershey did after going through all of this, which made him the founder of world-famous Hershey’s. That is what everyone who is being admired for their success did, even when their attempts went up in smoke. Now we recognize them as masters of success, the entrepreneurs

When successful entrepreneurs come into the spotlight, people only see their success and wonder how they achieved them all, simply giving the credit to luck. But what people forget is that hard work, works harder than luck. Successful entrepreneur is what you see on the crest, but how they climbed the mountain is the real fight that sculptured their success.

Let’s hike up a mountain to see what it is like. But will your fears let you start right away? Just like fear of heights is going to hold you back, fear of failing gets in the way of starting a business. But if the desire is high enough, the entrepreneur will execute the plan, like the hiker starts to climb. That is the first checkpoint which filters out the achievers.

Challenges are not over! If you step on unsteady rocks in the way, you are going to fall with them all the way down or will get away with a stumble if you are lucky. Wrong decisions and unreliable partnerships can be those falling rocks for an entrepreneur. Now you have climbed halfway up the mountain and it starts raining, like lack of money, mismanagement and competitors dampen the spirits of the entrepreneur. The next day, the sun is not going to make it any easier, as the heat drains you out. In a business, expenses on damages and emergencies play the same role as heat.

Passing a couple of checkpoints, you are almost there. Now, here is the last one. When you are closer to the crest, the amount of oxygen in the air gets lower, as you are at a high altitude. Likewise, when it is close to reaching the target, some people will draw back from supporting, because of envy and fear of being surpassed. But the courage and confidence you build up through the obstacles you encountered, will not give up until you are there.

Finally, we are on the crest and there is beautiful scenery around you to applaud your effort. A scenery that you will not see if you did not endure the exhausting journey to reach the top. As the entrepreneur who triumphed over the obstacles and sculpted their own success starts making a significant impact on the society, people sing the praise of their success.

Among the ones who start the hike, only a few are going to make it to the top. Some get discouraged by the obstacles, some settle at the ground under the shade of the mountain, some get fallen. Journey of an entrepreneur is not a walk in the park, but it is an adventurous hike up a mountain that gives a feather in your cap.
